Mary S. Martin, professional artist since 1976, her oils and watercolors transmit her happiness to live in the countryside and her choice of topics are eloquent. Her landscapes of the Eastern Townships, her country scenes in England are very popular. She also likes to paint draft horses as well as the flowers of her garden. Member of the Canadian Society of Watercolor (SCA), she was elected member of the Canadian Painters Society
Watercolor (CSPWC) and the Institute of Figurative Arts (IAF).
She has won numerous awards and has exhibited in New York, Colorado, San Diego and Montréal. She has twice been the recipient of the Line Boisvert prize for transparency and luminosity. Her paintings are characterized by accurate draftsmanship and superb quality of light.
Her ideal walking and painting holiday is to spend three weeks in the Lake District of England.
