Louise  HOUDE

Louise Houde (1946-2016)

Louise Houde was born in Quebec in 1946, and it was with a visit to Scotland (1961-1962) and then to France that she began a series of trips, which enabled her to train in painting. In 1963, she followed the teachings of Albert Rousseau at the École des beaux-arts de Québec, then continued her travels, seeking to refine her pictorial approach, leaving in particular in Japan and again in France.

Louise Houde's still lifes as well as her landscapes ensure her reputation, and her image processing often includes a black ring, which highlights the objects represented as well as the colors that dress them.
